Top half of a silvery dress, weds 12th

I put this together today. The black pieces I started cutting out yesterday will become part of this too. I'm going to call it the "grizedale" dress, after the place I indeed to photograph it.

Buttons, fur, and black scales, 11th feb

Black scales- all backed with green fabric, and with an edging of machine embroidery- it's nice to use my machine's fancy stitches sometimes!

Friday 7th Feb

Further faffing around with this colourful dress- I didn't like the yellow jersey being the top layer, as it was a bit on the orange side. I'm not entirely convinced I like it yet, but at the very least it will make for a good photoshoot- there will be lots of possibilities for capturing movement by spinning and jumping etc.

I added some reflective strips to my coat (one that I didn't make, sorry!) since I do so much cycling in it- the belt can be turned the other way up for a less conspicuous look when I'm not cycling should I wish! The camera flash in the second photo shows how it looks in car lights.

Thursday 6th Feb

Further detail added to yellow dress (including fun pom poms!), and more t-shirts shredded to go down the back of it. I spent a bit of time duplicating the front panel so the dress overlaps like a double breasted jacket. This worked better than a back fastening, as all the jersey strips would get in the way. I also got round to lacing up the other dress, and putting a piece of fabric behind the lacing to make it more dignified to wear!
